Digital Dubai unveils Dubai Pavilion at GITEX Africa 2024 – Business – Economy and Finance

Dubai to Showcase Digital Transformation Initiatives at GITEX Africa 2024

Digital Dubai has announced Dubai’s participation in GITEX Africa 2024, set to take place in Marrakech, Morocco from 29 to 31 May. The event is expected to draw national-level participation from across the African continent and various other countries worldwide.

Organized by Digital Dubai, the Dubai Pavilion at GITEX Africa will feature the participation of 8 government entities, including Digital DEWA, Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Security Industry Regulatory Agency, DP World, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Customs, and Department of Economy and Tourism. Together, they will showcase Dubai’s key projects and initiatives related to digital transformation, highlighting the city’s position as a leader in the industry regionally and globally.

Commenting on Dubai’s participation, His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of Digital Dubai, emphasized the importance of international events like GITEX Africa as platforms for engagement and collaboration. He stated, “Our attendance at this event aligns with the vision of the UAE’s leadership to support innovation and technology in driving economic growth. This participation allows us to explore opportunities in digital transformation in Africa and discuss potential partnerships with other participating countries.”

Al Mansoori also highlighted Dubai’s achievements in digital transformation and digital government, noting the city’s reputation as a global destination for companies and experts in the field. He expressed eagerness to learn about the latest technological developments at GITEX Africa and leverage them to further enhance Dubai’s digital transformation efforts.

The Dubai Pavilion at the event will showcase several initiatives and projects, as well as host business meetings with representatives from government entities and private sector companies to explore collaboration opportunities. With the participation of 130 countries, GITEX Africa aims to facilitate international exchanges and collaborations, positioning itself as a key platform for innovation and economic development in Africa.

The event is expected to provide a valuable opportunity for Dubai to share its expertise in digital transformation and learn from the experiences of other countries. By engaging with stakeholders from around the world, Dubai aims to strengthen its position as a leader in the digital industry and explore new avenues for cooperation and partnership.
