Reading Time: < 1 minute

Nine Tempe high schools have been recognized for their excellence in education by making U.S. News and World Report’s 2024 list of best public high schools in Arizona. These schools have been ranked based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college.

Among the top schools in Tempe are Tempe Preparatory Academy, Corona Del Sol High School, ASU Preparatory Academy Digital, James Madison Preparatory School, McClintock High School, New School for the Arts, Marcos De Niza High School, Tempe High School, and Tapbi. These schools have been ranked in both Arizona and national rankings, showcasing their dedication to providing quality education to their students.

The rankings are based on six criteria including college readiness, state assessment proficiency, state assessment performance, underserved student performance, college curriculum breadth, and graduation rate. Schools are given an overall percentile score between 0 and 100, with scores below the 25th percentile listed with a ranking range rather than a numerical rank.

Parents can use these rankings to make informed decisions about their child’s education and to see how well schools are serving their students. The report aims to provide an unbiased look at the educational landscape and help families navigate the options available to them.
