District and Substate Assignments for Iowa High School Boys’ Tennis in 2024

Iowa City West and Linn-Mar have been chosen as host schools for the Class 2A boys’ tennis district singles and doubles tournaments, set to take place on May 8. The No. 2 Lions will compete alongside No. 6 Cedar Rapids Washington in the six-team field, while No. 4 West is the sole ranked team in its district.

In Class 1A, No. 3 Cedar Rapids Xavier will participate in the Fairfield district, with No. 7 Decorah hosting a district that includes No. 5 Waverly-Shell Rock. The winners and runners-up from all districts will advance to the state tournament on May 21-22 at the Hawkeye Recreation and Tennis Center in Iowa City for 2A and Byrnes Park in Waterloo for 1A.

Additionally, team substate assignments have been revealed, with the first and second round duals scheduled for May 11 and the substate finals on May 15. The state team tournament will take place on May 30-31 at Waukee Northwest High School for 2A and the Hawkeye Recreation and Tennis Center in Iowa City for 1A.
