Dodgers suffer second consecutive loss to Mets, falling 6-4 – NBC Los Angeles

The New York Mets continued their winning streak on Saturday with a 6-4 victory over the struggling Los Angeles Dodgers. Starling Marte’s go-ahead three-run homer in the sixth inning proved to be the difference maker in the game. The Mets have now won six games in a row and have won five straight series after a rough start to the season.

Despite issuing 10 walks, the Mets were able to secure the win, with Reed Garrett earning his first big league save. The Dodgers, on the other hand, continued to struggle at the plate, losing for the seventh time in nine games. They went 2 for 12 with runners in scoring position and left 13 runners stranded on base.

Marte’s contributions to the Mets have been significant, with manager Carlos Mendoza praising his performance and energy on the field. In addition to Marte’s homer, Francisco Lindor also drove in two runs for the Mets.

The Dodgers had their chances to score, but missed out on key opportunities, including leaving the bases loaded in the eighth inning. Pete Alonso made a spectacular play in the sixth inning to prevent the Dodgers from scoring more runs, diving to tag first base for the third out.

The Mets will look to continue their winning streak in the series finale against the Dodgers, with RHP Adrian Houser scheduled to start for the Mets and LHP James Paxton for the Dodgers.
