Donald Trump celebrates as ABC News president Kim Godwin resigns: ‘Good riddance!’

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Former President Donald Trump has made headlines once again, this time reacting to the resignation of ABC News president Kim Godwin. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump expressed his satisfaction with the news, stating, “Happy to report that Kim Godwin, Head of ABC, has resigned. Could it be the unfair reporting on EVERYTHING TRUMP?”

He didn’t stop there, adding, “In any event, GOOD RIDDANCE! Hopefully somebody else will be able to control George Slopadopolous and the rest of the Fake News Thugs over at ABC? Best wishes Kim!”

Godwin’s resignation comes after three years at the network, with reports suggesting that she faced increasing scrutiny over her performance from corporate superiors. She was the first black woman to lead a network news division, making her resignation even more significant.

In a staff memo obtained by the New York Post, Godwin announced her decision to retire from broadcast journalism, stating, “After considerable reflection, I’m certain it’s the right one for me as I look to the future and prioritize what’s most important for me and my family.”

Having worked at ABC, CBS, NBC, and various local news stations in nine cities, Godwin expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to lead a team synonymous with trust, integrity, and determination. She concluded by saying, “I leave with my head held high and wish the entire team continued success.”

As the news of Godwin’s resignation continues to make waves, the future of ABC News remains uncertain, with Trump’s comments adding fuel to the fire.
