Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Transition and Water Transformation Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof will be leading the Malaysian delegation to the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali from tomorrow until May 21. This visit comes at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo, as announced by the Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA).

PETRA stated that the forum aims to strengthen Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable water use, water supply security, and creating economic opportunities. Malaysia, through PETRA, will focus on innovative solutions to address existing water challenges, such as changing rainfall patterns and extreme weather phenomena.

The Malaysian delegation will participate in a high-level meeting led by Indonesia to explore innovative solutions to water-related challenges under the forum’s theme “Water for Shared Prosperity.” They are also expected to hold bilateral meetings with key Indonesian officials and relevant parties.

The World Water Forum, co-organised by the World Water Council (WWC) and the host country every three years, aims to foster global cooperative relationships and encourage action in identifying current issues related to water management through integrated solutions.

This participation in the WWF highlights Malaysia’s dedication to addressing water challenges and promoting sustainable water management practices on a global scale. Stay tuned for updates on Malaysia’s involvement in the forum and their contributions to water conservation efforts.
