Cameron High School’s Lance Hartley had a standout performance on Wednesday, leading his team to an 8-1 victory over Tyler Consolidated in a high school baseball showdown. The Dragons, with a record of 13-2, faced off against the Silver Knights, who entered the game with a record of 14-5.

Hartley, a senior and Potomac State recruit, showcased his skills both at the plate and on the mound. In his first at-bat, he doubled off the fence before hitting a three-run home run in the bottom of the third inning to give Cameron a 3-1 lead. He continued his impressive performance by hitting a two-run homer in the fifth inning, finishing the game with five RBI.

Cameron’s head coach, Adam Angel, praised Hartley’s performance, stating, “He absolutely crushed the baseball today.” Hartley’s two home runs were his third and fourth of the season, highlighting his offensive prowess.

On the pitching side, Hartley was part of a three-man effort that limited Tyler Consolidated to only four singles and struck out 14 batters. The Dragons’ pitching staff proved to be a formidable force against the Silver Knights.
