Tygarts Valley’s Jaxon Drennen pitched a no-hitter in a stunning 4-0 victory over Doddridge County in Class A, Region II, Section 1 play on Tuesday night. Drennen struck out 10 batters and walked four, showcasing his dominance on the mound.

The game was a battle of Bulldogs, with Tygarts Valley taking an early lead in the fourth inning. Elliot Smith’s double set the stage for Drennen’s single, putting Tygarts Valley up 1-0. Jacob Wamsley then sealed the deal with a three-run homer, extending the lead to 4-0.

Drennen continued to shut down Doddridge County, retiring the side in order in the sixth and seventh innings. He struck out all three batters he faced in the final frame to secure the no-hitter.

Tygarts Valley finished with six hits on the night, with Drennen leading the way with two hits. The team improved to 16-6-1 on the season, showcasing their strength as they advance in the playoffs.
