In a groundbreaking event that is set to make history, four autonomous cars will race simultaneously at the Yas Marina Circuit on Saturday. This event marks the inaugural edition of the Aspire Abu Dhabi Autonomous Racing League (A2RL), where eight teams will compete for a prize pool of $2.25 million.
More than 10,000 spectators are expected to witness this significant milestone in motorsport history, as the teams showcase their coding skills and engineering expertise. The participating teams hail from various countries, including the US, Germany, Switzerland, China, Hungary, Singapore, Italy, and Germany.
Each team will have exclusive access to identical Dallara Super Formula SF23 cars, which have been autonomised with autonomous racing stacks developed by the Technology Innovation Institute (TII).
