Dubai Culture showcases cultural tourism at Arabian Travel Market 2024

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) made a significant impact at the 31st Arabian Travel Market (ATM), showcasing the rich cultural heritage and attractions that Dubai has to offer. The event, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, provided a platform for Dubai Culture to highlight key landmarks and tourist attractions, aiming to boost cultural tourism in the city.

One of the highlights of Dubai Culture’s participation was the display of its finest cultural assets, including the Al Shindagha Museum, the UAE’s largest heritage museum. This museum offers a unique insight into Dubai’s history, showcasing the traditional lifestyle from the mid-19th century to the 1970s. With contributions from over 100 local community members, the museum provides a comprehensive cultural heritage experience.

Visitors to the Dubai Government Pavilion were also introduced to the Etihad Museum, which documents the establishment of the UAE and celebrates the legacy of the founding fathers. Through interactive exhibitions and educational programs, the museum offers a journey through the events leading up to the declaration of the UAE in 1971, shedding light on the country’s constitution and the rights and responsibilities of its citizens.

In addition to showcasing cultural assets, Dubai Culture also highlighted local talent at the exhibition within the VIP Majlis at ATM. Emirati artist Ammar Al Banna’s five art pieces, titled ‘Twin Peaks’, ‘Mountainside Farming’, ‘Colossal’, ‘Environmental Brutalism’, and ‘Against All Odds’, offered a unique perspective on the environment, nature, and local heritage. This exhibition aimed to empower local artists and strengthen Dubai’s cultural and creative industries.

Overall, Dubai Culture’s participation at ATM was a success, further solidifying Dubai’s position as a preferred global destination for cultural tourism and entertainment.
