Dubai Internet City Showcases Homegrown Entrepreneurial Excellence at GITEX Africa in Morocco

Dubai Internet City, a globally influential tech hub, recently showcased the success stories of homegrown entrepreneurs at GITEX Africa in Morocco. The event, held on 29-31 May, highlighted the region’s digital transformation drive and the importance of collaboration in fostering innovation.

As part of TECOM Group PJSC, Dubai Internet City has been a key player in Dubai’s economic growth and diversification for the past 25 years. The tech hub has brought together industry leaders such as Google, Microsoft, VISA, and MasterCard to drive impactful innovation in the region.

The legacy of Dubai Internet City demonstrates how collaboration can unlock AI-enabled economic growth, supported by strategic visions like Dubai Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the newly launched Dubai Universal Blueprint for AI (DUB.AI). Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group, emphasized the importance of building pathways to harness the promise of AI for global impact.

With over 29,000 professionals and entrepreneurs in its ecosystem, Dubai Internet City is home to a diverse range of tech companies, including Fortune 500s, start-ups, and innovators from around the world. African-backed companies like Neulink from Sudan and We4Recycle from South Africa have found a home in Dubai Internet City, showcasing the hub’s global reach.

As the ‘Business Acceleration Partner’ of GITEX Africa, Dubai Internet City provided networking and educational opportunities for entrepreneurs, highlighting success stories from its ecosystem. Companies like Grambell, Sprinklr, Abcurr Entrepreneurial Institute, and Twyn showcased their innovative solutions at the event.

Dubai Internet City’s participation in GITEX Africa follows its successful involvement in GITEX Global in October 2023, where it announced partnerships with international industry giants and strategic organizations to empower global entrepreneurs in Dubai. The tech hub has been at the forefront of the region’s digital transformation for 25 years, contributing to Dubai’s status as a global business and talent hub.
