Dubai Introduces Long-Term Visa for E-Gamers: Age Requirement and Procedure Details Revealed

Dubai has taken a significant step in supporting the e-gaming sector by launching the long-term ‘Dubai gaming visa’ to nurture talented individuals, creators, and pioneers in the industry. This initiative, under Dubai Culture, is akin to the golden visa and offers a 10-year validity to recipients.

The primary goal of the Dubai gaming visa is to empower individuals in the gaming sector to hone their skills and explore various investment opportunities to transform their innovative ideas into successful projects. Hala Badri, the Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, emphasized that this visa aligns with the vision of Dubai’s Ruler, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to position the emirate as a premier destination for entrepreneurs, investors, game developers, designers, and programmers.

The Dubai Gaming Visa is part of the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, initiated by Dubai Crown Prince, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with the aim of positioning Dubai among the top 10 cities in the global gaming industry. This move is expected to significantly boost the sector’s contribution to the growth of Dubai’s digital economy and increase the GDP by approximately $1 billion by 2033.

Applying for the Dubai Gaming Visa can be done through the Dubai Culture website or via https://dubaigaming.gov.ae/. The application process involves submitting necessary documents such as a copy of the passport, educational qualifications, proof of community contributions, job roles, residence permits, EIDs, professional CV, and other personal details.

It is important to note that obtaining an approval or permit issuance from Dubai Culture does not guarantee final approval, as additional approvals from local or federal authorities may be required. The age limit for applying for this service is 25 years and above, and Dubai Culture reserves the right to reject any application without providing reasons.

The Dubai Gaming Visa is part of the multi-year cultural visa categories granted by Dubai Culture and GDRFA-Dubai to various creative individuals across different sectors.
