In a heartwarming gesture, the top three finalists of “American Idol” surprised local music education organizations in their hometowns with funding on behalf of the CMA Foundation and ABC. During the finale of the popular singing competition, a total of $60,000 was donated to three deserving music education programs, with each receiving $20,000.

In Dallas, TX, Jack Blocker visited the Texas Music Project, which supports music education programs in Texas schools and the community. Abi Carter traveled to Indio, CA, and surprised Tools for Tomorrow, an organization that offers arts literacy programs for children. Lastly, Will Moseley returned to Hazlehurst, GA, and surprised the “Pride of the Pinewoods” Band at his former high school with funding.

Tiffany Kerns, Executive Director of the CMA Foundation, expressed her gratitude for the finalists’ passion for music education. She highlighted the importance of music in children’s lives and the foundation’s ongoing efforts to support music educators and programs across the country.

In addition to the recent donations, the CMA Foundation will soon launch a case study on arts and music education in Tennessee school districts. This initiative is part of the foundation’s commitment to providing resources and support for music educators to create thriving programs in their schools and communities.

The surprise donations on “American Idol” not only showcased the finalists’ dedication to music education but also highlighted the impact of supporting such programs on young people’s lives. The generosity of the CMA Foundation and ABC will undoubtedly make a difference in the lives of many aspiring musicians and music enthusiasts.
