Tyneika Thomas, the Youth Sports and Fitness Director at Fort Gregg-Adams, has been recognized for her outstanding work in youth development. Thomas was awarded the Child and Youth Services Award of Excellence for her exceptional leadership and dedication to the youth programs at the installation.

Col. James D. Hoyman, the garrison commander, praised Thomas for her dual role in overseeing both the Youth Sports and Fitness program and the Youth Center Program. Despite the challenges, Thomas excelled in both roles and made a significant impact on the lives of young people in the community.

Under Thomas’s leadership, the Youth Center Program flourished, offering a variety of recreational activities for teenagers, including lock-ins, trips, and college visits. She also fostered collaborations with off-post organizations, further enriching the experiences of the youth in the program.

Tamara Johnson, the Fort Gregg-Adams CYS coordinator, commended Thomas as an inspirational leader and a trailblazer in the community. Johnson highlighted Thomas’s ability to create leaders at the grassroots level and her unwavering commitment to serving others.

Overall, Thomas’s dedication and innovative approach to youth development have not gone unnoticed. She has set a high standard for excellence in the Child and Youth Services Program and continues to make a positive impact on the lives of the young people she serves.
