Dylan Minnette, known for his role in the hit Netflix series “13 Reasons Why,” recently opened up about his decision to step away from acting in a new interview. The 27-year-old actor, who quickly became a Gen-Z icon thanks to his role as Clay Jensen on the show, revealed that he felt it was time to explore other passions.
In a conversation on the Zach Sang Show, Dylan explained, “It started to feel like a bit of a job. I was in a very fortunate position where it was always fun for me, always really inspiring, but then as soon as it was just starting to feel like just a job, I was like, well, I feel like my band Wallows and music is this passion that we have always had as a group to really take all the way, and as far as we can.”
Despite stepping away from acting, Dylan clarified that he hasn’t completely given up on it. He expressed, “I do feel like I have something to give, and that’s probably acting. I feel like I’m starting to feel inspiration for that again.”
Since his last on-screen appearances in 2022, Dylan has been focusing on his music career with his band Wallows. They even performed at Coachella in 2022 and released their latest album, “Model,” earlier this month.
Fans of Dylan Minnette can look forward to seeing him back on screen when the time is right, as he continues to pursue his passion for both music and acting.
