Dynatrace, a leading software intelligence company, has released the results of a global survey involving 1,300 CIOs and technology leaders from large organizations. The survey highlighted the increasing adoption of multicloud environments and cloud-native architectures to drive rapid transformation and secure innovation. Despite the benefits of these modern cloud ecosystems, organizations are struggling to manage the overwhelming amount of data they generate.
The report, titled “The state of observability 2024: Overcoming complexity through AI-driven analytics and automation strategies,” revealed that on average, organizations are utilizing 12 different platforms and services in their multicloud environment, with 10 monitoring and observability tools in use. This complexity is causing challenges for tech leaders, with 85% feeling overwhelmed by the number of tools and platforms they have to manage.
Furthermore, 84% of tech leaders expressed concerns about the difficulty of protecting applications from security vulnerabilities in multicloud environments. The report also highlighted that 86% of tech leaders believe that the data explosion from cloud-native technology stacks is beyond human capacity to manage, and traditional AIOps systems are not equipped to handle this volume of data effectively.
Bernd Greifeneder, CTO at Dynatrace, emphasized the importance of advanced AI, analytics, and automation strategies to overcome the complexity of modern technology stacks. He stressed the need for organizations to unify diverse data, retain its context, and leverage hypermodal AI techniques to drive smarter decision-making and more efficient ways of working.
