Eagle River Speedway in Wisconsin recently hosted its 2023 awards banquet, where track champions in seven divisions were crowned. The event took place at Chef Rene’s at Eagle River Inn on Saturday, April 13, and saw local driver Jason Zdroik take home titles in both the Chef Rene B modified and Sweetwater late model divisions.

Other winners included David Blackberg in the Coffen Construction stock car division and Jason Eisel in the Eagle River Dock and Lift street stocks. The Richer brothers from Escanaba, Michigan, Chase and Bentley, also claimed track championships in the 600 and 300 micro divisions, respectively. Devin Fries from Phillips secured the pure stock title.

Rookie-of-the-year honors went to several drivers, including Austin Zdroik and Ryan Brown from Eagle River, Max Nowak from Minocqua, and Blake Joslin from Rhinelander. Green Bay’s Patrick Farley Jr. received the ‘most-improved driver’ award, while Jesse Aho from Twin Lakes, Michigan, earned the driver sportsmanship award.

Looking ahead, the 2024 racing season at Eagle River Speedway is set to kick off on Sunday, May 26, with regular Tuesday night racing starting on June 11.
