Eastern Florida State College Tennis Shares First Place at NJCAA National Tournament in Texas

The Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis team had a stellar performance at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament at Collin College in Texas, winning all six singles matches and all three doubles matches. This impressive feat has put them in a tie for first place overall with host Collin College, Cowley, and Tyler Junior College.

The day started with the No. 1 and 2 singles players, Hugo Car and Jack Dixon, both securing victories in their matches. Car, the No. 1 seed at No. 1 singles, dominated his opponent with a 6-1, 6-0 win, while Dixon fought hard in a closely contested match to come out on top.

The rest of the team also delivered outstanding performances, with Nick DeVivo, Tomas Quesada Perez, Jett Leong, and Alexandr Achour all winning their singles matches in straight sets. The doubles teams of Car and Dixon, DeVivo and Colin Tavares, and Achour and Perez also showcased their skills and secured victories in the afternoon matches.

The Titans’ success on the court has solidified their position as strong contenders in the tournament, with their sights set on clinching the top spot.
