Sophomore Hugo Car of the Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis team has emerged victorious, claiming the national title at No. 1 singles in a thrilling final match at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament at Colin College in Texas.
Car showcased his skills and determination as he battled against Tyler Junior College’s Juan Carlos Garcia. Despite a strong start from Car, Garcia fought back, making the match intense and competitive. In the end, Car emerged victorious, winning in straight sets and securing the national title.
Car’s exceptional performance throughout the tournament has solidified his position as the No. 1 player in the ITA JUCO rankings. His success is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the sport.
In addition to Car’s victory, teammates Nick DeVivo and Tomas Quesada Perez also showcased their talent, reaching the finals in singles. Although they fell short of a title, their impressive performances as runner-ups at No. 3 and No. 4 singles demonstrate the depth of talent within the Eastern Florida State College men’s tennis team.
