EasyJet warns UK tourists of potential disruptions and delays for flights before May 31

EasyJet has issued a warning to passengers travelling before May 31 as ‘disruption and delays’ to flights are expected due to air traffic control strikes in France. The strikes, set to take place from Friday, May 24 to Friday, May 31, will impact flights in and out of France, potentially affecting flights to and from other countries as well.

Both EasyJet and Jet2 have advised customers with flights booked before the end of the month to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport. While the airlines reassured holidaymakers that staff are working to minimize disruption, they acknowledge that delays are likely.

An EasyJet spokesperson stated, “We expect there will be disruption and delays as a result of the industrial action, so we advise all customers to continue to check the status of their flight on Flight Tracker before traveling to the airport.”

Jet2 also updated its travel advice, informing passengers about the strike action supported by French Air Traffic Control from May 24 to May 30, which may cause delays to flights passing through French airspace.

Both airlines emphasized the importance of staying informed and recommended arriving at the airport at least two hours before departure. They assured customers that they would continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.
