eBay Introduces New ‘Resell on eBay’ Feature to Promote Circular Fashion

eBay has announced the launch of a new feature called ‘resell on eBay’ that aims to simplify the process of listing clothing for resale. This innovative feature is part of eBay’s commitment to promoting circular fashion by making it easier for brands and consumers to participate in re-commerce.

The new feature will be integrated into Certilogo’s Secure by Design™ digital ID, allowing users to access it by scanning the connected product’s smart label. Italian brand Save The Duck will be the first to pilot this feature, with connected garments featuring the resell button set to roll out in May. eBay plans to extend this service to other brands using the Certilogo Digital ID in the future.

Charis Marquez, Global GM of Fashion at eBay, highlighted the importance of this development, stating that reducing friction and removing barriers to re-commerce is crucial in fostering a pre-loved fashion marketplace. The new resell feature aims to help brands keep their products out of landfills while providing consumers with an easy way to give their items a second life.

The process is simple: users scan the QR code on a product’s smart label, authenticate the item’s authenticity through Certilogo’s AI-based system, and then pre-fill an eBay listing with information from the brand. Users can edit the details and list the item for sale on eBay with just a few clicks.

This new feature is part of eBay’s ongoing efforts to enhance the selling experience for users. With the integration of Certilogo’s technology, eBay aims to make circular fashion more accessible and transparent for both brands and consumers.
