Educator from Hillsborough County Selected as Finalist for 2025 Teacher of the Year

Dr. Clayton Nylund, a dedicated educator at Howard W. Blake High School in Hillsborough County, has been named as one of the five finalists for the prestigious 2025 Teacher of the Year award by the Florida Department of Education. Dr. Nylund, who teaches physics and engineering to high school students, has been recognized for his outstanding commitment to education and his innovative teaching methods.

His doctoral dissertation on mathematical achievement and funding in Haiti led him to co-found a non-profit organization focused on supporting schools in the country. He has also led medical and relief trips to Haiti following natural disasters, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact on the world.
