Crédit Agricole Assurances, France’s largest insurer, has reported strong business dynamics in the first quarter of 2024, with total revenue reaching 12.3 billion euros, up 5.2% compared to the same period last year. The company also saw net inflows of +1.0 billion euros and a 3.4% year-on-year growth in its property & casualty portfolio.
The CEO of Crédit Agricole Assurances, Nicolas Denis, expressed his satisfaction with the positive results achieved in both France and abroad. He highlighted the growth in all business lines and the significant improvement in activity in Italy and Luxembourg, particularly in life insurance. Denis also emphasized the company’s commitment to its societal project, including initiatives to support the transition to a low-carbon economy.
In terms of financial performance, Crédit Agricole Assurances saw premium growth of 5.2%, driven by a rebound in international life insurance, particularly in Italy and Luxembourg. The company also experienced growth in non-life insurance in France, partially offset by a decline in life insurance in the country.
Overall, the company’s robust business growth was reflected in its earnings, with a contribution of 494 million euros to Crédit Agricole S.A.’s Net Income Group share, up 4.1% year-on-year. The combined ratio stood at 93.8%, down 0.9 points year-on-year, thanks to favorable market and weather conditions.
