The US Embassy in Cairo has announced an exciting Egyptian-American musical fusion tour featuring the award-winning American vocal music ensemble, The Beatbox House. This tour, part of their 2024 world tour, will showcase their innovative musical style in Luxor, Cairo, and Alexandria, celebrating the cultural ties between the two countries.

The Beatbox House’s itinerary includes collaborations with iconic Egyptian musicians, promising a unique musical spectacle. In Cairo, they will perform with Wust El-Balad, while in Alexandria, they will join forces with the vibrant Sharmoofers.

Ruben Harutunian, Minister Counselor for Public Diplomacy at the US Embassy, expressed his enthusiasm for the tour, stating, “Under the banner ‘Almazieka tegam3na’ or ‘Music Brings US Together,’ we aim to honor the robust alliance between our nations and connect people through the power of music.”

The tour kicks off on April 30 at the Misr Public Library in Luxor, followed by a performance at the American University of Cairo’s Tahrir Campus on May 1. The tour will conclude on May 3 at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport in Alexandria.

In addition to performances, The Beatbox House will engage with local communities, hosting a unique show for the visually impaired at the Bibliotheca Alexandria and conducting workshops for children and artists involved in US-funded music programs.

Sponsored by the US Embassy through the American Music Abroad program, this tour marks a return to Egypt after five years, showcasing the power of music in fostering cultural diplomacy.
