Eisenhower dominates rival Youngsville in 18-2 softball victory | News, Sports, Jobs

The Eisenhower Knights came out swinging in a big way during their 18-2 victory over the Youngsville Eagles on Thursday. Led by Riley Gafner’s impressive 4-for-4 performance with five RBIs, the Knights dominated the game from start to finish.

After suffering a close 12-11 loss to the Eagles just six days prior, Eisenhower was determined to come out on top this time around. And they wasted no time in asserting their dominance, scoring two early runs in the first inning thanks to RBI singles from Julia Gesing and Samantha Childs.

The Knights really turned up the heat in the second inning, sending 14 batters to the plate and scoring nine runs to take a commanding 11-0 lead. Highlights included Gafner’s two-run single and Haley Highhouse’s bases-clearing triple.

Youngsville managed to score a couple of runs in the game, but Eisenhower’s offense was relentless. The Knights continued to pile on the runs, with Gafner, Gesing, and Childs all coming up clutch with key hits throughout the game.

In the end, Eisenhower sealed the deal with an impressive 18-2 victory. While Youngsville did manage to win the junior varsity contest, the varsity Knights were unstoppable.

With this win under their belts, the Knights are looking ahead to their next game against Rocky Grove, while Youngsville will be hitting the road to face Oswayo Valley. It was a sweet victory for Eisenhower, and a tough loss for the Eagles, but both teams showed great sportsmanship throughout the game.
