Reading Time: < 1 minute

Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson has announced that the company is looking to incorporate in-game advertisements in a “thoughtful” manner in its $70 games. During a Q&A session in the company’s Q4 financial report, Wilson discussed EA’s plans for in-game advertising, stating that they are aiming to “harness the power” of their players with these implementations.

Wilson emphasized the importance of being “very thoughtful about advertising” but also noted that it presents an opportunity for significant growth for the company. He mentioned that EA has teams internally working on how to seamlessly integrate ads into game experiences, suggesting that this initiative is already in progress.

The CEO’s comments come as EA is gearing up for the release of the next entry in the Battlefield series, with Wilson confirming that the company is assembling its “largest Battlefield team in franchise history” to work on the game. He highlighted the focus on creating a connected multiplayer and single-player experience, leveraging cutting-edge technology and compelling storytelling to build a cohesive Battlefield universe.

With the upcoming release of Battlefield 2042, EA is looking to build on the lessons learned from previous titles and deliver an enhanced gaming experience for fans. As the company explores new avenues for growth through in-game advertising, players can expect to see more strategic placements of ads in their favorite EA titles in the future.
