Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and CEO of Emirates, has officially launched the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024 in Dubai. The event, described as the “leading global travel and tourism event,” is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from May 6-9 and boasts a record-breaking 2,300 exhibitors from 165 countries, with an estimated 41,000 attendees.
The theme of this year’s ATM is ‘Empowering Innovation: Transforming Travel Through Entrepreneurship,’ bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and travel professionals to explore the future of the travel industry. The four-day conference agenda includes over 50 sessions featuring 200 speakers, highlighting the latest trends and innovations in the sector.
Since its inception in 1994 with 300 exhibitors and 7,000 trade visitors, ATM has grown to become a globally renowned event that integrates various travel sectors, from leisure and luxury hospitality to corporate travel. This year, exhibitor participation has increased by 26%, showcasing the industry’s growth and development.
Sheikh Ahmed emphasized Dubai’s role as a major tourism destination in the region, attracting leaders from allied sectors worldwide to shape the future of the industry. The focus of ATM 2024 is on visionary entrepreneurs in aviation, hotels, hospitality, and public attractions, highlighting their transformative impact on the sector.
The event also includes a variety of speakers and sessions on the Global Stage and the new Future Stage, covering topics such as entrepreneurship, sustainability, AI, travel technology, and future trend forecasts. ATM 2024 is part of Arabian Travel Week, a 10-day festival of travel and tourism events in Dubai, showcasing the city’s position as a hub for innovation and growth in the industry.
