Emirates Airlines has announced the launch of flights to Madagascar, starting from 3 September 2024. The new service will operate four times a week between Dubai and Antananarivo, with a linked service to the Seychelles, offering travellers more choice and connectivity.

The flight schedule has been strategically planned to optimize connections to key points in Europe, the Far East, West Asia, and the Middle East/GCC. This new route aims to boost international travel to and from Madagascar, supporting the country’s goal of attracting one million tourists by 2028.

Tourism is a vital pillar of Madagascar’s economy, creating thousands of job opportunities and contributing to the country’s growth. Emirates’ new route will provide connectivity from over 140 points in its global network, helping to diversify target markets and showcase the island’s natural attractions to international travelers.

He expressed confidence that the new service will have a positive impact on boosting Madagascar’s connectivity and opening up new opportunities for travelers and businesses.

The Malagasy government is actively working to grow the tourism sector and attract more visitors to experience the island’s biodiversity and natural beauty. Emirates’ partnership with Air Madagascar will further enhance global connectivity, promoting tourism and trade between the two countries.

The new route will strengthen connectivity between Madagascar and the world, showcasing the country’s cultural and natural treasures.

Madagascar, known as the world’s fourth-largest island, offers a diverse range of attractions, from white sandy beaches to lush rainforests and national parks. Travelers can engage in various activities such as hiking, trekking, water sports, and wildlife exploration, while also experiencing the local cuisine and culture.

Emirates SkyCargo, the airline’s cargo arm, will support the growth of mutual trade between the UAE and Madagascar by exporting goods through its hub in Dubai to key markets worldwide. The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft serving the Dubai-Antananarivo route will offer a luxurious travel experience with First Class suites, Business Class seats, and Economy class options.

With the launch of this new route, Emirates aims to facilitate the exchange of goods and services between the two countries, supporting the growth of Malagasy businesses and enhancing global trade opportunities.
