Thirty participants from underserved communities have successfully graduated from the Credit Guarantee Corporation (M) Bhd’s CGC100 Youth Entrepreneurship Programme – Comprehensive Track, marking a significant milestone in their entrepreneurial journey. The programme, a collaboration between the Education Ministry and Pintar Foundation, aims to empower youth with entrepreneurship and soft skills through a rigorous 12-month course.
During the graduation ceremony, CGC chairman Datuk Mohammed Hussein emphasized the importance of creating an ecosystem for micro, small, and medium enterprises to thrive, especially in the face of economic challenges like the Covid-19 pandemic. He highlighted the need for business skills and leadership to adapt to changing environments and overcome obstacles.
One of the graduates, Darlene Cheng Key Li, who runs a food and beverage business in Kuala Lumpur, praised the programme for enhancing her business acumen. She mentioned that the classes on financial management, marketing, and business pitching were particularly insightful and helped her expand her business connections.
Another graduate, Nurul Ain Aqilah Hamzha from Johor, shared how the programme helped her increase sales by 68% in just two months by applying the knowledge gained in writing a business plan, marketing, and branding.
The event also saw the launch of the second cohort of CGC100 – the Fast Track programme, aimed at candidates with minimal knowledge of entrepreneurship. Twenty participants were inducted into the program, which kicked off with a session on “Core Values and Work Ethics” by Mohammed.
Overall, the CGC100 programme continues to make a positive impact on aspiring entrepreneurs from underserved communities, equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the ever-evolving entrepreneurial landscape.
