The Government of Goa has launched the “Coding And Robotics Education in Schools Scheme (CARES)” to revolutionize education in the state. This initiative aims to integrate computational and design thinking skills, along with programming, into school-level education to prepare students for the digital world of the 21st century.
Under the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa, CARES has been actively engaging stakeholders, think tanks, and corporate partners to enhance the educational structure in the state. The scheme has organized various technical and non-technical competitions, including the recent Goa Codes 2024, to showcase the coding skills of young talents in Goa.
To further nurture students’ skills and foster a passion for technology, CARES is set to launch a two-day offline Boot camp on 21/05/2024 and 22/05/2024. The theme of the boot camp is “Junior Entrepreneurs: From Idea to Impact,” focusing on empowering students with the skills and mindset to turn their ideas into impactful ventures.
Participants will learn how to validate, prototype, and scale their ideas, emphasizing the importance of execution and impact in entrepreneurship. The boot camp will include sessions with mentors from Teach For Goa – Fellows, who will provide guidance, feedback, and practical advice to help students refine their ideas and overcome challenges.
Students from classes V to VIII in the academic year 2023-2024, regardless of their school affiliation, are welcome to register for the boot camp on the CARES portal www.cares.goa.gov.in from 9 May 2024 to 15 May 2024. This initiative aims to instill confidence, courage, and effective communication skills in students, encouraging them to think creatively and solve real-world problems in novel ways.
