Encarnacion-Strand’s 4 RBIs propel Reds to 11-4 victory over White Sox, sending Chicago to franchise-low 2-13 record

The Cincinnati Reds dominated the Chicago White Sox in a three-game sweep, with Christian Encarnacion-Strand leading the charge with four RBIs in Sunday’s game. The White Sox, now 2-13, are off to their worst 15-game start in franchise history, with only 34 runs scored so far this season.

Chicago manager Pedro Grifol emphasized the need for the team to relax and play as a cohesive unit rather than putting pressure on themselves as individuals. The Reds, on the other hand, are off to their best 15-game start in three years at 9-6.

Encarnacion-Strand and Nick Martini both hit two homers in the game, contributing to Cincinnati’s impressive 27-5 run differential in the series. Martini, a Chicago native, expressed confidence in the team’s performance as they head into the next leg of their road trip.

Pitcher Graham Ashcraft had a stellar performance for the Reds, striking out eight in 5 2/3 innings while allowing only two runs and five hits. On the other side, Michael Soroka struggled for the White Sox, giving up five runs and six walks in 4 2/3 innings.

In terms of injuries, Reds’ LHP Sam Moll made a successful rehab appearance, while White Sox’s Eloy Jiménez, Yoán Moncada, and Luis Robert remain on the IL.

Looking ahead, the Reds will face the Seattle Mariners with RHP Frankie Montas on the mound, while the White Sox will take on the Kansas City Royals with RHP Erick Fedde starting.
