Sean Kingston, the 34-year-old singer, found himself in hot water on Thursday after being arrested on numerous fraud and theft charges. The arrest came after a warrant was issued for his arrest, and his mother, Janice Turner, was also taken into custody following a raid on a South Florida mansion he was renting.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest, stating that Sean Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was detained in California while performing at an event. He was taken into custody without incident and is set to be booked into jail in San Bernardino.

The warrants were served at a property in Southwest Ranches, Florida, following an ongoing investigation. Sean Kingston took to Instagram before his arrest to assure his followers that he and his mother were doing well and that his lawyers were handling the situation.

The arrest reportedly took place during Sean Kingston’s performance at the US Army base Fort Irwin, where he was booked to perform for the United States Army’s Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Programs. The arrest is said to be related to a lawsuit filed by Ver Ver Entertainment, alleging breach of contract and fraud over the purchase of a 232-inch Colossal TV and sound system.

Attorney Robert Rosenblatt, representing Sean Kingston and his mother, acknowledged the allegations and expressed confidence in a successful resolution in court. The lawsuit claims that Sean Kingston failed to fulfill his agreement to make promotional videos about the products, as well as make payments for the TV and sound system. The case is ongoing, and Sean Kingston will have to face the legal consequences of the charges against him.
