Entertainment News: Veteran Actor Richard Foronjy Passes Away

Veteran character actor Richard Foronjy, known for his roles in movies like ‘Midnight Run’, ‘Prince of the City’, and ‘Carlito’s Way’, has passed away at the age of 86. Foronjy, who had a colorful past growing up in the gangster world and even serving time in prison before turning to acting, breathed his last last week.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Foronjy made his debut with a small role in the 1973 crime drama ‘Serpico’ starring Al Pacino. He went on to work in several iconic films, including ‘Midnight Run’ where he played mobster Tony Darvo alongside Robert De Niro.

In ‘Carlito’s Way’, a 1993 crime drama starring Al Pacino and Sean Penn, Foronjy portrayed the character of mobster Peter Amadesso. His versatility as an actor was evident in his roles in ‘Once Upon a Time in America’, ‘Ghostbusters II’, and various TV series like ‘Who’s the Boss’ and ‘Hill St. Blues’.

Foronjy is survived by his children Charles Foronjy, Susan Argentina, Christine Argentina, and Richard Foronjy, along with 17 grandchildren. He is also survived by his partner, Wendy Odell Chiaro, and three brothers: Charles, Frank, and William.

The entertainment industry mourns the loss of a talented actor whose contributions will always be remembered. May Richard Foronjy rest in peace.
