Entertainment Tonight Wins Big at 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards
Entertainment Tonight (ET) is celebrating a major victory after taking home the award for Outstanding Entertainment News Series at the 51st annual Daytime Emmy Awards. The popular entertainment news program beat out competitors Access Hollywood and Extra to secure the prestigious honor.
Co-executive producer Whitney Wallace, along with hosts Kevin Frazier, Nischelle Turner, and several ET staffers, accepted the award at the ceremony held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Wallace expressed gratitude to executive producer Erin Johnson and the dedicated team behind the longest-running entertainment news program in the world.
This win marks ET’s fifth consecutive victory in the Outstanding Entertainment News Series category and its ninth overall. In addition to the series award, ET talent Kevin and Nischelle, along with Matt Cohen, Cassie DiLaura, Denny Directo, Will Marfuggi, and Rachel Smith, were nominated in the Daytime Personality – Daily category.
ET’s executive producer, Erin Johnson, and co-executive producers Whitney Wallace and Leslie Kawaguchi, have been instrumental in the show’s continued success. Entertainment Tonight holds the official Guinness World Records title of Longest-Running Entertainment News TV Show.
The Daytime Emmy Awards also recognized other stars and programs in daytime TV, including Selena Gomez, Valerie Bertinelli, Zooey Deschanel, and Robert Downey Jr. The ceremony will air on CBS and Paramount+ on Friday, June 7 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
