Entrepreneur and ‘Shark Tank India’ judge Namita Thapar made a stunning debut at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival. On the second day of Cannes 2024, she graced the premiere of Chris Hemsworth-starrer ‘Furiosa A Mad Max Saga’ in a gorgeous ruffled, off-the-shoulder gown by Lebanese fashion designer Elio Abou Fayssal.

Sharing her glamorous pictures from the French Riviera on Instagram, Namita captioned the post with “Cannes 2024 :),” leaving her fans elated. Social media users couldn’t stop praising her, with one commenting, “So proud of you,” and another writing, “Woww… you look just fabbb and you are truly breaking stereotypes about entrepreneurs.”

The Cannes Film Festival kicked off with the world premiere of Quentin Dupieux’s ‘Le Deuxieme Acte (The Second Act)’ on Tuesday night, where Oscar winner Meryl Streep received the honorary Palme d’Or. The festival also saw the inauguration of the Bharat Pavilion, representing India, with Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sanjay Jaju and H.E. Jawed Ashraf, Ambassador of India to France in attendance.

Speaking at the inauguration, Sanjay Jaju highlighted India’s commitment to showcasing its cinematic heritage and fostering international collaborations. Filmmaker Richie Mehta also expressed his gratitude for the festival community, stating, “The festivals have helped me basically unlocking a career.”

With India gaining attention worldwide, the Bharat Pavilion at Cannes aims to engage with film celebrities and showcase the country’s creative talent. The official poster and trailer of the 55th India International Film Festival (IFFI) will also be unveiled at the Bharat Parv, marking a significant moment for Indian cinema on the global stage.
