Entrepreneur enters politics, advocates for social entrepreneurship and green innovations

Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, a 35-year-old entrepreneur and social activist, is stepping into the world of politics by contesting from the SC-reserved Peddapalli Lok Sabha constituency as the Congress party candidate. With a strong background in social entrepreneurship, Mr. Vamsi is known for his advocacy of eco-conscious business practices and green innovations.

Hailing from a political family, Mr. Vamsi is the son of Chennur MLA and former Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vivekanand. He is aiming to continue the legacy of his grandfather, late Gaddam Venkataswamy, who represented the constituency for four terms.

Having graduated from Purdue University in the U.S., Mr. Vamsi is the Joint Managing Director of Visaka Industries. He is credited with launching the innovative ATUM Solar Roof, an integrated solar roofing system that offers an alternative to conventional retrofit solar systems. This product has been patented in India, South Africa, and the U.S.

In addition to his work in the solar energy sector, Mr. Vamsi has also developed ATUM solar-powered pushcarts to support low-income entrepreneurs. He believes that social entrepreneurship is key to transforming the lives of the underprivileged.

As he campaigns in the industrial hub of Telangana, Mr. Vamsi aims to focus on skill development, entrepreneurship, and green initiatives in Peddapalli constituency. He envisions a brighter and greener future for the region, emphasizing the importance of innovation and sustainability. With a strong commitment to the welfare of the workforce and the community, Mr. Vamsi is determined to make a positive impact through his political journey.
