Christina Boyer, a Dover High School graduate, is on a mission to help troubled youth in her community through her new venture, Disciplined Love. On Saturday, she introduced her nonprofit at The Hive on Loockerman, aiming to provide guidance and support to young people who may feel lost and alone.

Having overcome her own struggles as a juvenile delinquent, Ms. Boyer understands the challenges that today’s youth face. She enrolled in the Launcher program at Wilmington University to learn how to start her nonprofit and received support from Barclays, which has provided funding for Launcher.

Janaid Kareem, a longtime business owner and Launcher instructor, has been mentoring Ms. Boyer and other aspiring entrepreneurs. He commended her for taking the first step in launching Disciplined Love and expressed confidence in her ability to make a positive impact on at-risk youth in Dover.

Ms. Boyer plans to reach out to young people in libraries, schools, and other community spaces to offer them support and guidance through the Disciplined Love program. With her firsthand experience and the knowledge gained from the Launcher program, she is determined to make a difference in the lives of troubled youth.

As she embarks on this new journey, Ms. Boyer is grateful for the opportunity to help young people who are facing similar challenges that she once did. With the support of Mr. Kareem and the community, she is determined to provide a safe and supportive environment for at-risk youth in Dover.
