North Miami Beach is gearing up for the third annual Small Business Summit & Expo, set to take place at City Hall on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event aims to provide local businesses with resources and opportunities to expand their reach.
Commissioner Daniela Jean, the brains behind the expo, emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses, calling them the backbone of the community. With an expected turnout of 500 businesses, Jean estimates that the city is home to over 3,000 businesses in its registry.
The expo will feature sponsors like Comcast, the Miami Foundation, and Wells Fargo offering information on grants and loans. Attendees can also benefit from onsite business coaching and educational sessions provided by 20 resource partners.
As the Community Redevelopment Agency liaison, Jean has been actively involved in programming to support local business owners. Recently, she sponsored an ordinance to provide more opportunities for food truck vendors to serve the community.
Jean’s efforts extend beyond the expo, with ongoing support from Google and Florida International University to help entrepreneurs succeed. She hopes the event will empower more residents to start their own businesses, ultimately improving the quality of life in North Miami Beach.
With a commitment to providing resources and opportunities for small businesses, the Small Business Summit & Expo is poised to be a valuable event for entrepreneurs in the community.
