The African Property Investment Awards (API Awards) are back for their 8th annual edition, and this time they are open to entries from South Africa. This prestigious platform celebrates excellence in the African real estate industry and provides significant benefits to winners and finalists.
The awards, which will be presented at the API Summit in September 2024 in Cape Town, are open to developers, professional teams, consultants, suppliers, and property owners across Africa. The categories include best developments for shopping malls, residential properties, mixed-use, office, hotel, industrial, logistics, and alternative real estate assets.
Previous winners have seen transformative effects on their businesses. Mikayla Benkenstein, CEO of Hodari Africa, who won the Young Property Person of the Year award in 2023, credits the award for enhancing visibility and credibility within the industry. Craig Hean, Managing Director of CBRE | Excellerate, highlights how winning the Best Property Service Provider in Africa award in 2023 boosted their reputation in the market.
Wayne Troughton, CEO of HTI Consulting, emphasizes the importance of the awards in recognizing excellence in property development. Tim Harlech-Jones, Managing Director of Bentel Associates International and a judge for this year’s awards, stresses the need for adaptability and sustainability in judging criteria.
Entries for the API Awards 2024 are now open and can be submitted until July 1, 2024. The awards provide a valuable platform for industry professionals to showcase their best work and be recognized among the best in the industry.
