Equinox introduces new $40K membership aimed at promoting longevity for members

Luxury fitness chain Equinox is set to launch a groundbreaking program called “Optimize by Equinox,” offering members a chance to live healthier and longer lives for a hefty price tag of $40,000 a year. This exclusive program, created in partnership with Function Health, promises personalized health plans that include personal training, nutrition coaching, sleep coaching, and massage therapy.

Function Health, a membership-based platform based in Austin, Texas, offers access to over 100 lab tests to help customers optimize their health and longevity. The Optimize program will cost members $3,000 a month for a minimum of six months, totaling $36,000 for the year, in addition to the roughly $4,000 annual Equinox gym membership.

The program will kick off in New York City at the end of May, expanding to other locations in Texas and beyond. Members will undergo a battery of tests to assess their health and fitness levels, including 100 biomarkers analyzed by Function Health and fitness tests conducted by Equinox.

Equinox’s top trainers will work with Optimize members three times a week, while nutrition coaches, sleep coaches, and massage therapists will also be part of the core team. The program includes 16 hours of coaching and training each month, focusing on overall health and fitness improvement.

While the program shows promise, some concerns have been raised about the lack of medical professionals involved. Despite this, Equinox is confident in the program’s ability to help members achieve their health goals and live longer, healthier lives. Aspiring members can join a waitlist on Equinox’s website to be considered for the program.
