Eritrean Diaspora Nationals Commemorate Independence Day Anniversary

Eritreans around the world celebrated the 33rd Independence Day anniversary with great enthusiasm and patriotism. From Qatar to Saudi Arabia to Ethiopia, nationals came together to commemorate the historic day under the theme “Peace Anchored on Resilience”.

In Doha, Qatar, the celebratory event was a colorful affair attended by nationals, members of the diplomatic community, and invited guests. Eritrea’s Ambassador to Qatar, Mr. Ali Ibrahim, spoke passionately about the significance of Independence Day and the sacrifices made to achieve it. The event also featured cultural and artistic programs that showcased the rich heritage of Eritrea.

Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, nationals in various cities like Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam celebrated Independence Day with cultural performances, exhibitions, and dress shows. The event in Riyadh was even broadcast live on social media platforms, allowing Eritreans around the world to join in the festivities.

In Ethiopia, nationals in Addis Ababa gathered at the Skylight Hotel to celebrate Independence Day with patriotic zeal. Mr. Biniam Berhe, Charge d’Affaires at the Eritrean Embassy, highlighted Eritrea’s development policy focused on self-reliance, peaceful relations, and cooperation with neighboring countries and the global community.

The event in Ethiopia was attended by ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, officials from the African Union and Economic Commission for Africa, and members of the diplomatic community. Mr. Biniam commended all those involved in organizing the event and emphasized Eritrea’s commitment to promoting peace and cooperation on both regional and global levels.
