Jennings County sophomore Mollie Ernstes has been selected to play in the girls Futures Game as part of the Indiana-Kentucky All-Star basketball series. Ernstes will showcase her skills for the South team in a game against the North on June 3 at Hamilton Southeastern.
Her Panther teammate, Juliann Woodard, will also be representing Indiana in the All-Star games. Woodard will play against the Junior All-Stars on June 5 at Kokomo and face off against the Kentucky All-Stars on June 7 at a location to be determined, with a final game on June 8 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
In other basketball news, Columbus East recently held its postseason awards banquet. Jack Fischvogt, Kadin Lobdell, Ethan Bumbalough, Mason Reeves, and Keaton Lawson were among the players recognized for their outstanding performances during the season.
Additionally, Hauser High School announced the winners of their boys basketball awards. Taeshaun Tungate, Alex Cord, Ledger Gelfius, Gavin Keller, Stryker Gill, and Collin Buck were among the recipients of various awards, including Offensive Award, Defensive Award, and Most Improved.
