The Escanaba High School baseball team closed out their regular season with a dominant performance, securing two 10-0 five-run rule wins over Superior Central. The Eskymos finished the season with a 16-14 record, setting the stage for district action on Saturday.

In the first game of the doubleheader, Escanaba’s offense exploded with key hits from Ben Johnson, Bon LaChance, and Mikaiden Hughes. Pitcher Cannon Arnt delivered a stellar performance, striking out six batters across three perfect innings. The team’s solid defense and timely hitting propelled them to a decisive victory.

Game two saw the Eskymos continue their offensive onslaught, with contributions from Lennox Peacock, Nolan Bink, and Chase Cloutier. Bon LaChance shined on the mound, allowing only one hit and striking out six batters in three innings of work. The team’s strong pitching and consistent hitting led to another commanding win over Superior Central.

Head coach Scott Hanson praised his team’s performance, highlighting their clean baseball and preparation for the upcoming district tournament. With momentum on their side, the Eskymos are focused on putting together back-to-back strong performances to advance in the playoffs.

As the team gears up for district action in Cheboygan, they are determined to avenge last year’s loss in the finals and secure a spot in the championship game. With a well-prepared and motivated squad, Escanaba is poised to make a deep playoff run and continue their winning ways.
