The Escanaba High School softball team put on an impressive performance in a doubleheader against Negaunee on April 23, 2024, at Abrahamson Field in Escanaba. The Eskymos showcased their skills on the field, with standout players making key plays throughout the games.
First baseman Emma Wisler cracked a smile towards her teammates in the dugout after hitting a double, showing her excitement and team spirit. Third baseman Katey Lamb prepared to swing at a pitch with determination, while catcher Carly Bowden expertly framed a pitch behind the plate.
Outfielder Taylor Forvilly displayed her focus as she prepared to turn on a pitch, and center fielder Clara Braun took a lead off of third base, ready to make a play. Shortstop Anna Boutilier showcased her versatility by preparing to drop a bunt, adding a strategic element to the Eskymos’ offense.
Right fielder Carly McInerny showed off her speed as she bolted out of the batter’s box, while junior pitcher Maddy Mott prepared to hurl a pitch with precision. Second baseman Harlee Coolman demonstrated her control as she checked her swing, and outfielder Chloe Dobard sprinted out of the batter’s box with determination.
Sophomore pitcher Landry Bray showcased her skills on the mound, winding up to deliver a pitch with power and accuracy. The Eskymos’ teamwork and talent were on full display during the doubleheader, earning them a well-deserved victory.
