The World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships Antalya 24 is set to showcase some of the best race walkers in the world, including double world champions Alvaro Martin and Maria Perez. The event, scheduled for 21 April, will feature five races on a 2km loop course near the Antalya Expo Centre in Turkey.

This year’s competition holds extra significance as it serves as a qualifying event for the marathon race walk mixed relay at the Paris Olympic Games. Teams from around the globe will be vying for a chance to secure their spot in the prestigious event.

In the senior 20km races, teams can feature up to five athletes, with the top three scoring. In the U20 10km races, teams can include up to three athletes, with the top two scoring. Prize money will be awarded to the top teams, with a bonus for any world records broken.

The marathon race walk mixed relay will make its debut at the championships, with teams consisting of one man and one woman completing the marathon distance in legs. The top 22 teams to finish will qualify for the event at the Paris Olympics, with up to five teams from the same country eligible to qualify.
