Etcheverry and Ruud to face off at Roland-Garros

Argentinian tennis player Tomas Martin Etcheverry advanced to the third round of the Roland-Garros tournament after Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech retired during their match in Paris on Thursday evening. Etcheverry, seeded No 28, was leading 3-6, 6-7 (8), 6-1, 5-0 when Rinderknech, ranked No 69, decided to pull out.

Etcheverry’s next opponent will be Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 7 seed. Before his victory over Rinderknech, Etcheverry had a tough battle against Frenchman Arthur Cazaux, winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-4.
