Europe Could Suffer Double Blow Without ECB and Fed Rate Cuts, Scicluna Cautions

European Central Bank Governing Council member Edward Scicluna has issued a warning that the euro zone’s economy could face a double blow if interest rates are not lowered both at home and in the US. In an interview, Scicluna emphasized the importance of a less restrictive monetary policy to support the economy’s recovery in the second half of the year.

Scicluna expressed concerns that if rates are not cut and the US adopts a more restrictive monetary policy, it could have a detrimental impact on the euro area economy.
