In Evanston, the Umbrella Arts Festival on May 11 at Fountain Square will showcase Asian American art, food, and music. The DIY Japanese Woodblock Prints event on May 19 at the Robert Crown Branch will allow participants to create their own woodblock prints inspired by the Edo period style. On May 23, there will be a Traditional Chinese Tea Demonstration led by Yvonne Wolf, where attendees can learn about the art of tea handling and enjoy tea tastings. Japanese Calligraphy (shodō) will be taught on May 26 by The Japanese Cultural Center of Chicago, offering a glimpse into the ancient art form.

In Wilmette, the K-Pop Party on May 16 at the Wilmette Public Library will celebrate all things K-pop with crafts, dances, karaoke, and trivia. An Introduction to the Japanese Garden on May 16 will explore the symbolism and aesthetics of Japanese gardens. The Chicago Koto Group Concert on May 19 will feature traditional Japanese music played on the koto, the national instrument of Japan.
