The Amundi Evian Championship, the prestigious major tournament in women’s golf, has announced a significant increase in its total prize fund for the 2024 edition. The total prize money has been raised to an impressive $8 million, with the winner set to take home a whopping $1.2 million.

Since its inception in 1994, The Evian Championship has been a trailblazer in promoting women’s sports and striving towards gender parity in golf. The tournament has been steadily increasing its prize money over the years, thanks to the support of its Sponsors’ Club, which includes Amundi, Rolex, Danone, and Evian.

LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan praised the tournament’s commitment to empowering female golfers and advancing women’s sports globally. The championship has been a leader in showcasing the talents of women golfers and inspiring young girls to pursue their dreams in sports.

Franck Riboud, Chairman of The Amundi Evian Championship, expressed pride in the tournament’s growth and development over the years. The increase in prize money is a testament to the organizers’ dedication to supporting women’s sports and providing resources to the champions who represent it.

The rise in the prize fund to $8 million marks another milestone in the tournament’s history and a step towards achieving parity in world sport. The 2024 Amundi Evian Championship is scheduled to take place from July 11-14 at the Evian Resort in France, promising an exciting week of top-tier women’s golf.
