Ex-NBA Player Receives Prison Sentence

Former NBA Player Glen “Big Baby” Davis Sentenced to 40 Months in Prison for Insurance Fraud

Former NBA player Glen “Big Baby” Davis, known for his time with the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, and Los Angeles Clippers, has been sentenced to 40 months in prison for insurance fraud. Davis, who was part of the Celtics’ 2008 NBA championship-winning team, has fallen from grace after his NBA career ended in 2015.

According to TMZ Sports, Davis defrauded the NBA’s healthcare plan, joining a list of former NBA players involved in similar schemes. Terrence Williams, another former player, was said to be the mastermind behind the plan and is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for his role in the scam.

Other notable former NBA players implicated in the scheme include Keyon Dooling, Tony Allen, Shannon Brown, and Darius Miles. The news of Davis’ sentencing comes as a shock to many fans who remember him as a key contributor to the Celtics’ success during his time in the league.

Since retiring from professional basketball, Davis has made limited appearances, including a stint in Ice Cube’s Big 3 League. His fall from grace serves as a cautionary tale for other athletes who may be tempted to engage in fraudulent activities. The NBA has yet to comment on Davis’ sentencing, but the league has been vigilant in cracking down on insurance fraud among its players.
